Is Abortion Legal in Minnesota?

January 1st, 2023

On Friday, June 24th, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade - no longer recognizing abortion as a constitutional right on the Federal level and handing over the decision of legalizing abortion to the states.

In Minnesota, abortion is legal and protected by the Minnesota State Constitution, but what does this mean for you? If you think you may be pregnant, you have a right to know all your options regarding pregnancy and abortion before making a decision.

In 2003, Minnesota Legislature passed the Women’s Right to Know Act, making information about all options regarding pregnancy available. This act has many resources, covering topics from pregnancy, abortion methods and their risks, the father’s responsibility, adoption, and more!

Resources Provided by the Women’s Right to Know Act:

Information on fetal development, abortion, and pregnancy resources handbook
Directory of Pregnancy Services in Minnesota (English Version)
Directory of Pregnancy Services in Minnesota (Version Espanola / Spanish Version)

If you think you may be pregnant, you must do two things before considering abortion:
